Day 1: Arrival to Punta Arenas – King George Island (Antarctica)
On the day prior to the flight a representative from our Company will meet you for a briefing about the Antarctic program. This briefing will allow the visitors to meet the other participants on the tour and ask questions about the trip.
The next day our aircraft will fly you over the Strait of Magellan, finally arriving to King George Island, the gateway to the white continent where most of the Antarctic scientific bases are located.
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our Antarctic expert tour guide, who will take you on a tour to the following sites:“Villa Las Estrellas,” the first settlement inhabited by civilians and which has a maximum of 150 people living there in summer.
We will then go and visit other attractions in the area, and will sail on a zodiac boat to Ardley Island to visit some penguin colonies and sailaround Collins Glacier.
We will visit the Orthodox Russian Church (at Bellingshausen Station) and then return to Punta Arenas is after a 5-hour tour (depending on weather conditions).
Lastly, transfer from Airport to the Hotel in Punta Arenas.
