Day 1: La Serena – Elqui Valley - Astronomical Tour of the Alfa Aldea Natural Planetarium

Transfer from Airport (Florida) – to the Terral Hotel.
Check in at hotel and free afternoon.

Night time departure from the Terral hotel to the Alfa Aldea Natural Planetarium.
The absence of light pollution and optimal weather conditions allow this place to offer a high-quality, personalized service to a more demanding public. We will observe the constellations of the open sky in a natural environment, led by an astronomical tour guide with a 12” telescope. (Stargazing with aperitif).
End of the tour and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Tour of the Elqui Valley – Mamalluca Tourist Observatory

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Elqui Valley tour.
We will enter the foothills of the Cordillera, where we will visit the museum of Gabriela Mistral (Nobel Prize in Literature 1945-1951) and the diaguita brewery. Later we will visit the village of Paihuano and then Montegrande, where we will visit the house-museum and tomb of Gabriela Mistral, as well as the old church. At the end of the tour we will head to the town of Pisco Elqui to visit the “Los Nichos” pisco distillery to learn about the production process and taste different varieties. Free afternoon.

Nighttime departure from the hotel to the Mamalluca Observatory.
Located 9 km northwest of Vicuña in the Elqui Valley, this observatory invites us to take a cosmic journey through sounds and images. Mamalluca has a 12“telescope donated by AURA featuring CCD detectors for electronic photography.
End of tour and hotel transfer.
