The Araucania region is not only known for the beauty of its landscapes and national parks, but also for hosting one of the most important native ethnic groups of the country, the Mapuche people.

Itinerary

Day 1: Temuco Pucón

Transfer from Temuco airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Half Day - Intercultural Curarrehue Mapuche Town Tasting

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure from the hotel for the town of Curarrehue just 35 kilometers away from Pucón. In this particular mountain range village, we will visit the intercultural village of Trawupeyüm where we will learn more about this people’s worldview. The visitors will be given a speech on Mapuche culture and customs of this courageous indigenous people. Afterwards, we will visit a village where there is a traditional Ruka (Mapuche hut). We will be served some typical dishes and will be able to taste the traditional flavors embodied in natural preparations such as the muday and sopaipillas. The flour they use to make these foods comes from Araucaria seeds which are boiled and then ground to obtain the flour.
Return to Pucón.

Day 3: Full day – Trekking Huerquehue National Park

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure from your hotel at a scheduled time towards the Huerquehue National Park which is about 33 km away from Pucón and spans an area of 12,500 hectares. This has large lagoons, araucaria forests, and overlooks Caburgua Lake.

Another characteristic is its network of trails which have made this park one of the favorites for nature lovers and those who practice trekking. At the end of this incredible adventure, we will return to the hotel in Pucón.

Day 4: Pucón - Temuco

Transfer to the airport in Temuco (B).

HUIFE HOT SPRINGS TOUR – NIGHT  VISIT

 

We will leave the hotel to head towards one of the most recognized hot springs in the region, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy thermal waters, which are rich in minerals, and travel all the way from the pacific fire line. The Huife hot springs are located approximately 33 kms. from Pucón, located on the banks of the Liucura River and surrounded by beautiful, rich vegetation. The pool´s temperature fluctuates between 104° and 136.4° F in the two open air pools, and there is a hydro massage and semi roofed pools. The thermal center features a cozy restaurant/café, offering international food. Return to hotel at a predetermined time.
