The Dientes de Navarino circuit is world famous for its pristine landscapes in the southernmost point for trekking on the planet, towering towards Puerto Williams, Ushuaia, the archipelago of Cape Horn and the majestic views of the Dientes de Navarino. Itinerary

Day 1: Punta Arenas – Puerto Williams

DAP airways flight to the beautiful city of Puerto Williams.
On the way we enjoy a breathtaking landscape that will take us to discover from the air the beautiful glaciers of the Darwin Cordillera, small southern channels and lagoons of beautiful colors. Arrival in Puerto Williams, airport, reception and transfer to Lakutaia Lodge. Welcome drink and then enjoy lunch. Visit in the afternoon to Omora Ethno-Botanical Park. This tour invites you to discover the beauty of the miniature forests of the Cape Horn Archipelago, through an experience called the “Loupe Tourism” and the educational work of the Omora Foundation. It is an initiative of bio-cultural conservation applied to human communities that inhabit the last sub-Antarctic forests of the planet, and sees active participation from the ethnic Yagán residents in Puerto Williams.

Dinner. After dinner the group will meet with the guide who will give a “briefing” on the route and details of the circuit.

Day 2: Trekking - Bass Valley

Breakfast.

Transfer by car from Lakutaia Lodge to the trailhead. The first day you will reach the end of Róbalo Valley up until the Laguna del Salto. There are two alternative routes chosen according to current weather conditions: on the top of the east side of the Róbalo Valley from the trailhead (height of 100 m), 1 and a half hours to climb to Cerro Bandera (590 m.), beautiful panoramic views over Puerto Williams and the Beagle Channel. Then for 2 hours, the slope of the Róbalo Valley above the top line of vegetation. In the end, a sharp decline for½ hour to reach Laguna del Salto (490 m.).

At the bottom of Róbalo Valley we ascend to the end of the valley, passing through the forest for two thirds of the time. We will make a progressive approach to Dientes de Navarino. Here you will find numerous lagoons, lakes, and beaver dams.

Day 3: Dientes de Navarino Trekking

Breakfast.
We will walk for two hours, climbing through three stages (716, 800, and 765 m.) crossing through the Dientes de Navarino, arriving at its southern slope to see the view of the Wollaston Islands and Nassau Bay, which is part of Cape Horn. After this we will skirt several lakes, and climb to Ventarrón Pass (696 m.), with a breathtaking view on the south side of the Dientes de Navarino and Codrington Mountains. Next there is a gentle descent to the modest Guerrico Pass where we will reach the Martillo Lagoon, the location of the second camp site.

We will hike over rocky terrain throughout the day.*5.5 hours of hiking.

Day 4: Guerrico Valley Trekking

Breakfast.

Martillo Lagoon to the wide Guerrico Valley: 3-hour walk. Come into contact with a less rocky terrain and forest landscapes, as well as, gorgeous views of the picturesque Lindenmayer Mountains. Ascent to the Virginia Pass (860 m: 440 m slope of 1 and a halfhrs.) The magnificent view encompasses the mountains and maritime areas of Tierra del Fuego. Descent for 1 and a half hrs. up to a well-protected camp site in the forest on the banks of a lagoon.

Day 5: Return to Lakutaia Lodge

Breakfast.

We will make a continuous descent to the sea; first in the forest and then on open ground (460 m. of altitude in 3 hrs.). You will reach Lakutaia Lodge after walking about 8 km on a gravel road, where an aperitif will be served and later lunch. Free afternoon for relaxing, walking around town, sharing experiences, and celebrating having reached the southernmost trekking point in the world.

Day 6: Puerto Williams - Punta Arenas

After breakfast we will have some time to continue enjoying the amenities of the hotel and then we will depart Puerto Williams for Punta Arenas or Ushuaia.
